Build Your Dreams :)
Building a dream by your actions — sounds really cool. It takes huge effort. I am not saying luck doesn't matter. Even though, to make luck work, you have to put some of your best-quality actions too.
Let's think in that way — You are an AI engineer, and you got lucky that you got an opportunity from some client. This might be the hit by luck, but building skills in AI is not about luck. It needs a roadmap, understanding, experiments, failures, struggles, stress, and what not.
The life of an AI engineer might sound cool, but it's not that easy, though. I just thought of sharing this thought: even though, to make sure luck works for you, we have to keep trying on the things that matter.
If you give 100 trials, you never know when the 10th trial or maybe the 50th will work for you. No one knows. But one thing that is predictable and in our hands is planning things smartly and strategically, and hitting that goal.
We shouldn't get behind in that. If we do so, then even though opportunities will come, things will go away.
Many can argue that many people get a lot of things without being skilled enough. You are right, but I am not sure how sustainable it will be. If you don't have real experience, you can't be consistent in your things.
The awesome thing about luck is — luck is not consistent. Sometimes it comes, sometimes it doesn't. That's why when someone works consistently, luck eventually gets hit, and they achieve success. But it's not overnight. It just needs consistent effort and the hope of waiting for the day when luck will hit and things will get achieved.
